Operation Coronet (Rev. 1.0)

Operation Coronet 1.3.1946 - 8.3.1946 (28 moves):

Within the operations "Olympic" and "Coronet" the allies invade the japanese mainlands beginning on 11/1/1945. This has become necessary as the nuclear strikes against Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not force the japanese empire to surrender and more bombs are not available at this time.

While - according to "Olympic" - a part of the allied forces fights on Kyushu since 1st of November, the main force is moving towards the beaches of Honshu on 03/01/1946...

The main task for these forces is taking Tokyo and neutralizing the remaining japanese forces and bases. Due to strong fortifications in the Tokyo area, the allies avoid a direct attack through the Tokyo bay. Instead the joint chiefs of staff have decided to establish two beachheads at lower defended beaches,  to capture some harbours and airfields for their own use and then to divide the island and attack Tokyo with joint forces. A british task force lands as a distraction and as northern group at Takaoka, while the southern group is to attack in the Yoshida bay and to capture ports and airfields in the area. At the same time the peninsula Izu has to be cut off from the rest of Honshu and occupied for the use as a base for the final advance on Tokyo...
